The Longhouse is a truly unique, family-run hideaway nestled in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains. We’ve lovingly converted this traditional stone long barn, blending its original Welsh charm; showcasing striking A-frame beams and rendered stone walls, with contemporary comfort for a cosy, luxurious stay. The heart of the cottage is the open-plan living space, centred around a welcoming log burner (wood supplied). After a day of adventure, sink into the comfortable sofa or enjoy a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. The cottage is designed to sleep four guests across two bedrooms, but extra space can be provided for infants or small children—just let us know if you require an air bed or a travel cot upon booking.

Private Garden & Outdoor Space
The enclosed garden is ideal for children and provides complete peace of mind for your pets. Guests love gathering around the outdoor fire pit in the evenings for a true escape under the stars. As a guest of Pencwm Escapes, you are also welcome to explore some of the wider grounds, which feature a woodland tiered garden area and fun amenities like our popular rope swing. We also provide fast, free Fibre WiFi so you can easily plan your excursions.

Pet Policy: Welcoming Your Dogs
We happily welcome up to two well-behaved dogs free of charge. If you require space for more than two, please message us directly to discuss options. The enclosed garden offers a safe place for playtime. Dogs are welcome to explore the wider grounds on a lead, and while we try to provide a separate off-lead field for exercise, we cannot always guarantee its availability. During winter, please be aware that sheep may be grazing across some of the fields.

The Longhouse is perfectly positioned as the ultimate touring base for West Wales. Located in the Whitland area of Carmarthenshire, you are centrally situated for easy access to three different counties:
Pembrokeshire: Just a short, scenic drive to the National Park, including beaches like Amroth, Saundersfoot, and popular attractions like Folly Farm.
Ceredigion: Easily reach the beautiful Cardigan coast, including towns like Cardigan and New Quay, for dolphin spotting and coastal walks.
Carmarthenshire: Explore local historic sites, castles, and the nearby boutique market town of Narberth.
